The school’s uniform is specified by the Headteacher and approved by the governors. All pupils are expected to wear the uniform when in school. If for any temporary reason this is not possible, a letter of explanation mus brought in to the form tutor. Please note that persistent offenders may not be able to attend normal lessons and will work separately under the supervision of senior staff. They are also likely to have certain school privileges removed. They may for example, be excluded from attending sporting events or school trips. Pupils who defy instructions from senior staff may be placed in the school unit or excluded from school.

One of the areas of concern with our current uniform is the length of skirts. Skirts should be no shorter than 5cms above the knee and must be worn as intended, not rolled up at the waist to make them shorter.
The school is on two main sites and pupils often have to move from one site to another. This walk takes up to five minutes. When it is raining or windy and cold, the path can be very exposed. Therefore pupils should be well prepared for such weather and wear proper, sensible, rainproof coats, giving good cover and warmth.
Scarfs/Gloves/Hats should be plain navy, black or grey. No football scarves. No baseball caps except plain dark caps approved on hot summer days. Outer coats should be plain black and preferably waterproof
Sky blue polo shirt for years 7, 8 & 9. Navy polo shirt for years 10 & 11, with the Brynteg School Badge. No ‘extra’ T-Shirts underneath
Bags, satchels or rucksacks must be functional and suitable for school use. Handbags are not acceptable
Hairstyles should be sensible in one natural colour. Shaved areas or shaved blocks are not allowed. Hairsprays, gel and wax can be dangerous and are forbidden. Any hair accessories should be plain. No brightly coloured bands or other accessories are allowed.
Makeup and nail varnish are not allowed and must be removed.
The only jewellery permitted is a watch. No other jewellery including earring of any description in any part of the ear, is permitted. Bangles, bracelets, unauthorised lapel badges and other jewellery will be confiscated
Face and nose piercings and visible tattoos are not acceptable. Pupils will be excluded from lessons and expected to remove piercings ASAP. This includes ‘see through’ piercings.
Thank you for your support with our uniform as, on the whole, the standard is extremely high.
Mr R Davies – Headteacher.
